And then someone hands you a gown that doesn’t zip.

You hear a number that feels unfamiliar.

Bigger than you expected.

Heavier than it should feel.

And suddenly what was supposed to be joyful feels… personal.

Bridal doesn’t work that way.

Wedding gowns have a much longer shelf life. A silhouette introduced five or even eight years ago may still be in production. A best-selling style can live on for a decade.

If a designer were to meaningfully change their size chart today, they would face a complicated reality:

It’s not a small adjustment.

The Why Behind More 2 Love Bridal

Okay, so we might be a little late to sharing this story.

After five years (TODAY!) of being open, thousands of appointments, countless happy tears, and hundreds of “yes” moments… we realized we never properly told you the why behind More 2 Love Bridal.

Better late than never, right? Because this story matters.

Imagine walking into a bridal boutique and being told there’s nothing in-store for you to try on. Instead, you’re asked to stand in front of a mirror, hold a gown against your body, and “use your imagination.”

Imagine being shown a small rack of ten dresses and told those are your only options while standing in a showroom filled with hundreds of gowns that were never meant for you.

Now imagine falling in love with one of those ten dresses… only to find out the listed price doesn’t apply to you. An additional percentage will be added simply because of your size.

It sounds like a bad dream. For many plus-size brides, it’s reality.

For years, we heard the stories. Brides being asked if they planned to lose weight before their wedding. Brides being told the silhouette they loved “wasn’t flattering.” Brides encouraged to camouflage instead of celebrate their bodies. Brides leaving appointments feeling smaller than when they walked in and not because of the number on a tag.

After more than a decade each in the luxury bridal industry, we knew something was broken.

Curvy brides were being offered fewer options, fewer samples, fewer moments and certainly not the elevated, joyful experience their straight-size counterparts were given without question.

We waited for the industry to change. It didn’t. So on March 9th, 2021 we opened what didn’t exist in Canada.

More 2 Love Bridal was created to give mid-size, curvy, and plus-size brides the full bridal boutique experience, not a modified version of it.
