Preparing For Your Appointment

May 18, 2026

WE PROMISE IT WILL BE FUN

Booking your bridal appointment is such an exciting moment.

But for many brides especially mid-size, curvy, and plus-size brides it can also come with a bit of uncertainty.

What should you bring?
What should you wear?
Who should you bring?
What if nothing fits?

At More 2 Love Bridal, we’ve designed our experience so you can walk in feeling confident, prepared, and excited not overwhelmed.

Here’s everything you need to know before your appointment.

Come With an Open Mind

It’s completely natural to arrive with a vision of your dream dress and we love that. Inspiration is a beautiful starting point.

At the same time, it’s important to leave room for the unexpected.

Many of the gowns you see online are photographed on one body type, styled in a specific way, and often heavily tailored for the shoot. What you’re drawn to in a photo may not be exactly what you end up loving on your own body and that’s not a limitation, it’s an opportunity.

In fact, some of the most unforgettable “this is the one” moments happen when a bride tries on a silhouette they never would have chosen for themselves.

Our stylists are trained to understand structure, fit, and proportion especially for mid-size, curvy, and plus-size bodies. We may gently guide you toward styles that enhance your shape, offer better support, or create a feeling you didn’t expect.

That doesn’t mean letting go of your vision it means expanding it.

Trust the process, stay curious, and allow yourself to be surprised.

Because sometimes the dress you didn’t plan for ends up being the one you can’t stop thinking about… (and sometimes, it’s the very first one).

Wear the Right Undergarments (But Don’t Stress)

Nude, seamless underwear is always a great option. A strapless bra can be helpful, but it’s not required.

Many of our gowns are designed with built-in structure and support, specifically for curvier bodies.

Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable in.

Shapewear is also great options if you intend to wear them on your wedding day, but full bodysuits with straps are not recommended.

Our goal is for you to feel confident, comfortable, and able to truly experience how each gown fits and feels.

Take Care of Yourself Before You Arrive

This one is often overlooked but it makes a big difference.

Have a proper meal before your appointment and come hydrated. You’ll be trying on multiple gowns, moving around, and spending time on your feet, so you want to feel your best.

We also recommend not booking your appointment right after a late night out.

Trust us ... everything feels better when you’re well-fed, well-rested, and fully present.

Bring Your People, Thoughtfully

Your bridal appointment is a special, personal experience and who you bring with you matters.

We recommend bringing up to four guests whose opinions you trust and who truly understand your vision. The right group will uplift you, support you, and help you feel confident in your decision.

Too many voices can quickly become overwhelming, and we want you to feel clear, not conflicted.

To keep the focus on you and create a calm, intentional environment, we kindly suggest leaving little ones at home for this appointment. This time is about you stepping into your moment.

Set a Realistic Budget & Know the INVestment

Our curated collection of designers ranges from approximately $2,200 to $7,500, with most gowns falling between $3,000 and $4,000.

We also offer a selection of off-the-rack and consignment gowns starting at $1,000+.

Before your appointment, it’s helpful to have a clear idea of your gown budget. Keep in mind that alterations are a separate investment later in the process, so your budget should focus on the gown itself.

At More 2 Love Bridal, transparency is important to us:

  • All gowns are clearly priced in-store
  • The price you see is the price no size-based increases
  • Customizations and rush orders (if needed) are additional

Having a clear budget allows our stylists to guide you toward options that feel right both emotionally and financially so you can shop with confidence and ease.

Save Inspiration (But Keep It Flexible)

Inspiration is everywhere; from Pinterest to Instagram to TikTok.

Bring a few photos that reflect what you’re drawn to, whether it’s:

  • Silhouettes
  • Necklines
  • Fabrics
  • Overall vibe

But remember, not everything you see online translates the same way in real life. Your stylist will help interpret your vision and find gowns that truly work for you.

Release the Pressure

You do not have to find your dress in one appointment.

You do not need a “Say Yes to the Dress” moment.

And you do not need to change your body to fit into a gown.

At More 2 Love Bridal, we focus on the fit and the feeling not the number on a label.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Your initial bridal appointment is a personalized, one-on-one experience designed entirely around you.

We’ll begin by connecting with you, learning your vision, your preferences, and how you want to feel on your wedding day. From there, your stylist will thoughtfully curate a selection of gowns for you to try on, using both your input and their expert understanding of fit, structure, and proportion.

This is not about pulling dresses at random, it’s a guided, elevated experience designed to help you find the one with confidence and ease.

Most of our brides do find their dress with us, so we always recommend coming when you feel ready to say yes just in case your moment happens sooner than expected.

A Few Small Details That Make a Big Difference

To keep your experience seamless and enjoyable:

  • The boutique is kept cool year-round (you’ll appreciate this while trying on gowns), but your guests may want to bring a layer
  • During inclement weather, we ask guests to remove outdoor shoes, sanitized rubber slippers are always available
  • To keep our gowns pristine, food and colored beverages are not permitted in the boutique

These small touches help us maintain the elevated, clean, and calm environment every bride deserves.

Most Importantly: Come As You Are

You don’t need to shrink yourself.
You don’t need to apologize for your body.
You don’t need to fit into anything.

The gowns are meant to fit you.

Our space was created so that every bride regardless of size can feel celebrated, seen, and completely herself.

Your bridal appointment should feel exciting, empowering, and unforgettable.

And we’re here to make sure it does.

Cheers!
